Summary of steps required to publish a NetViz project
using WebView Pro
Go to the web site and the URL for WebView Pro (as an
example go to www.webview.netviz.com)
First Time Use
On the login page click New User
On the following page enter name and address details
and a password. Submit the form. There is a message to create 1 or more
viewer groups. When a NetViz project is published each member of the viewer
group is sent an email. Click on the continue button and return to the main
WebView Screen.
On this screen there are options for
- Publish
- Preferences
- Viewer groups
- User Information
- Feedback
- Help
Click on Viewer Groups and click on Add
Group. In the next screen enter the emails of each person in the group and
click Add after each one. Click Done to close the sub form and
Done again to close the main form. This returns you to the Web View main
screen.
This finishes the set-up required.
Subsequent Use
The NetViz project is created and saved in the usual
way.
There is an option to publish to Web View from within
NetViz using the menu options Tools - Publish - netViz webview Service
in NetViz. This requires netViz 6 or greater (or netViz 5 with build number 637
or greater).
NOTE. Projects created in earlier versiona of
netViz need to be loaded and re-saved in a build number 637 or
greater to work correctly with webView
An alternative way to publish the project is to go to
the web site www.webview.netviz.com
At the opening login screen enter your email and
NetViz password and click Submit. This takes you to the Web View main
screen.
To publish a new project click on Publish and
select the netViz project from the Open File Select NetViz project File to
Publish window, which shows a directory structure for your computer. After
selecting the project select the Viewer Group from the drop down list.
This determines who can see the project. Click Publish to complete the
operation.
You may get a message to say your project is number x
in the queue. In our case it worked through a queue of 4 projects in about 15
seconds.
Your project name appears in the list when published,
which is a case of minutes.
To view published projects
Go to the web site www.webview.netviz.com
At the opening login screen enter your email and
NetViz password and click Submit. This takes you to the Web View main
screen.
This shows a list a existing published projects. Click
on these to open them. Click on Send Link to send a link to the project as an
email to a colleague.
